RVNA approaches its 100th anniversary
The Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association asked me to create a timeline graphic to talk about their 100 years of service. This timeline was used as a tri-fold brochure and as two 8’X4′ banners. The challenge of course was to display one hundred years in a readable fashion for both the brochure and the banners.
Messenger is a triptych 37X37 inches each panel
I find the response to this triptych interesting. Katie Rashid, Director of Jack Shainman Gallery in New York, as juror for Silvermine Guild Arts Center, accepted 2 of the three panels, panel 1 and panel 3 into “Art of the Northeast” — perhaps because of size restrictions — while possibly for the same reason the Pleiades Gallery in Chelsea NYC accepted only panel 1 in their show. Luckily all three hung in the group show...
Outside 49X61 inches
Why do cows come to the fence to watch as we walk by? My attempt is to get the viewer off the surface of the painting and as close to the experience as possible. If you thought you could smell the hay I’d feel great!
